Mumbai International Boat Show – surfing the high seas
The Mumbai International Boat Show, the first of its kind to be organized in the entire Asia Pacific region, was entirely planned, designed and managed by
HANMER MSL. The event was a mega success on both land and sea. At the BKC (Bandra Kurla Complex) Show there were over 10,000 visitors over three-and-half days enjoying the ‘off-water’ ambience spread over a mammoth 30,000 square meter in the company of premium boats, water sports equipment and other luxury products on display. If there ever was a motor boat show ever held, then this was certainly the big daddy of them all.

Art Aficionado - India on Canvas
HANMER MSL in association with NGO ‘Khushii,’ working for the welfare of marginalized Indians, hosted ‘India On Canvas’ – the premium art show that saw a galaxy of celebrities and artists from all across the country by coming together and giving wings to their creative dreams on canvas. The hundreds of paintings depicted the various moods, flavors, and culture of India.

India on Canvas was one of the most talked about events in the art circles as it resulted in the auction of over 100 paintings. Our commitment to professionalism is unparalleled and we at HANMER MSL have always been the pioneer in CSR activities throughout. This art initiative enabled people – both art critics and general public to bond over a social cause, and the proceeds of the mega event were utilised towards the betterment of the homeless and the elderly.

India Art Summit™ – The world is (certainly) not enough
While the art fraternity the world over gets numerous opportunities to interact and collaborate through various art fairs, biennales and expos, there has been no such platform in India as yet. So the time was right for India to offer a suitable platform for art in the form of an art fair.

Since HANMER MSL has been closely associated and involved with the art and culture space over the past few years -- it was time something concrete was done which would promote India’s rich cultural heritage to the world; and by large, make it into one of the biggest and most talked about cultural events ever to be held in this part of the continent.

The novel concept of The India Art Summit™ was the brainchild of none other than Mr Sunil Gautam, Managing Director, HANMER MSL, India. He along with his core team set the ball rolling. After months of meticulous planning that took countless liaison efforts with government departments and other higher authorities (endorsed by Tourism and Culture Minister of India, Ms Ambika Soni, and global auction house Sotheby's), the process was set in place. It was all through sheer grit and determination, The India Art Summit™ finally took shape.

With over 200 delegates representing various nationalities and a 10,000 plus surging crowd, The India Art Summit™ at Pragati Maidan, New Delhi, from Aug 22 -24, 2008, was truly a spectacle to behold – both in terms of artistic fervour and grandeur. It would be pretty modest to say that it was one of the finest and perhaps the largest ever gathering of art enthusiasts’ under one roof. The India Art Summit™ proved to be the single most important destination in India providing access to the largest and most comprehensive collection of Contemporary and Modern Indian Art.

We had world renowned celebrities from the world of art gracing the event. Mr Philip Hoffman, Chief Executive, Fine Art Fund (UK), and Henry Howard Sneyd -- Deputy Chairman, Sotheby's Europe and Asia, Dr Robert Storr -– Dean, Yale University School of Art, Dr Hugo Weihe –- International Director -- Asian Art, Christie’s, Ms Deborah Swallow -– Märit Rausing Director, Courtauld Institute of Art. Then we had distinguished speakers from India which included Ms Anjolie Ela Menon, Veteran Artist, Ms Gayatri Sinha, Art Critic & Curator, Prof Rajeev Lochan, Director, National Gallery of Modern Art, Ms Geeta Kapur, Art Critic and Curator (to list a few).
